Tesla CEO Ilon Musk announced Thursday that the company’s headquarters will move from Palo Alto to Austin, Texas. At the same time, he explained that Tesla is not leaving California, but increasing production.
The change to Texas was made a year ago – last summer, the company announced that its new plant would be located in Travis County, where Austin is located.
Recall that Oracle and Hewlett Packard previously left Silicon Valley and moved to Austin last year, and PayCertify (which provides financial services), announced plans in April to move to Reno, Nevada.
